EBRC
Client Project: Identity, branding, and website development
Why Resonance: This public-private partnership out of UC Berkeley chose Resonance because of our work on brand and marketing projects with other scientific research organizations. They wanted a complete brand overhaul that would reflect a move toward globally-focused research. We introduced the new brand and website at their annual membership retreat.
Solution / design rationale: The double helix is an oft-used symbol in science-centric logos. So the challenge is to present it in an unexpected and creative way. In our solution, the overlapping ribbons in the logo are suggestive of academia and industry working together, which is a fundamental aspect of the organization’s mission. The website offers a tiered navigation structure that promotes the organization’s four focus areas and has a rich members-only section with protected content and user groups.
Of note: Working with scientific minds is a fun challenge. There’s a push and pull between left-brain analytical thinking and right-brain creative expression. We’ve established a great working relationship and continue to help bring their communication needs to life.
