Helping you communicate more effectively.
THAT’S OUR MISSION.
We provide strategic marketing communications, focused on serving not-for-profit organizations. Our forte is working with change makers in the fields of global and public health, higher education, research, and science.
↓— Approach —
What do you want to happen?
Your answer helps point to the best ways to shape your communications.
Our solutions are aimed to:
BE RELEVANT
It’s not enough to be noticed and understood. Your target audiences must embrace what you’ve got to offer. Relevance is where your communication must begin, not end.
Seize attention
This is accomplished through creativity. In the endless torrent of messages and promotions, you must act imaginatively to get noticed.
Promote quick understanding
Technology has changed human interaction with communication. Comprehension must be instantaneous. That means your communication must be clear before clever.
Achieving these goals invariably leads to better results.
↓— Work —
We make your message work.
In today’s hyper-connected, media-saturated environment, it’s hard to break through the noise and the clutter. Our solutions do just that.

— Team —
Spread across the country, our lineup of talented professionals is united around one set of interests: yours.
Kathleen Turaski, President and creative director
Kathleen founded Resonance in 2006 and has been a designer for more than 20 years. Her best days are spent working on identity development, informational design, and print pieces that offer a tactile, personal experience and that make an impact in a way that web cannot.
One favorite example is a poster layout of a donor report with all names in one solid wall of copy to show the impact of the individual donor and the breadth of the giving community.
Kathleen’s home base is in Seattle where she enjoys kayaking, hiking and gardening. Her go-to comfort food is a homemade chicken pot pie with a savory parsley and thyme crust, often with vegetables straight from her backyard.
Christine Bell, Graphic designer and email specialist
Christine specializes in long-form books and reports, multi-piece communication packages, and email design, development, and delivery. Of all the projects she’s touched, one of her favorites was developing a series of graphics for a month-long social media campaign promoting National Foster Care Month.
Christine has been a designer for 20 years and joined the Resonance team in 2012. She lives outside of Nashville in Franklin, TN, and enjoys paper crafting, card making, and crocheting baby blankets. Her bucket list includes getting her pilot’s license, becoming a master archer, and visiting Israel and Egypt.
Susan Crain, Communications strategist and writer
Susan has been collaborating with Resonance founder Kathleen Turaski for more than 15 years and enjoys projects that involve problem-solving at a whiteboard with dry erase markers, developing messaging, and all forms of writing.
She makes her home in greater Atlanta, but once worked on a website launch that required translation into four Asian languages, a novelty for a true Southerner who has lived only in Georgia. Teammates on that project nicknamed her “Peach.”
Susan loves being out in nature and has a hard time picking between the mountains and the beach. Rather than choose, she tries to split her time between the two. She loves to read, relishes belly-laughs, volunteers with several causes, and occasionally, trains for a half marathon.
Hilary Faith Hickman, Website designer and developer
Hilary has worked with Resonance since 2014, and her specialties are custom WordPress websites, animation, and motion graphics. She’s been designing and developing websites for 20 years.
Early in her career, she helped create the 180.com website for Anheuser-Busch (180 was an energy drink intended to compete with Red Bull). Websites were new and according to Hilary, no one really cared about them. Absent of any material content, the site she designed was more like a game. It was square and had a giant eye that followed the cursor around, the logo was practically hidden, the navigation items moved around on screen, there were sound effects from Hanna-Barbera…and a lot of other things that wouldn’t get corporate approval today. However the site won an award, and she’s still proud of it.
Hilary lives in Denver, Colorado where she plays guitar, hikes, and paints. She aspires to be a gypsy someday and travel around in an RV but will insist that it have a shower.
Amy Leburn, Graphic designer and production artist
Amy enjoys identity development, specialty posters and postcards, and multi-page print and interactive books. She once created an annual report for premium paper manufacturer Neenah Paper that showcased all forms of printing and die cut techniques: metallic inks, foils, intricate die cuts, and unusual folds. A dream-come-true design assignment and showpiece!
Outside of work, she runs and walks, peruses the ModCloth app to curate her fashion look, and enjoys watching her children grow into productive human beings. She lives in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and presently, is transitioning to being blonde. She spent an (undisclosed) number of years as a brunette and felt recently that it was time for a change.
Alexis Sipmann, Graphic designer
Alexis lives in Atlanta and has been a graphic designer for more than two decades. She’s worked with Resonance since 2012. Her preferred design tasks involve branding and all forms of interactive and print design. One of her favorite projects was the branding work for The Marcus Jewish Community Center (MJCCA) book festival.
Alexis enjoys all things fitness and health including yoga, working out, running, and hiking—especially near tropical beaches. She has three wonderful kids, and her favorite foods are sushi and Mexican…although not at the same time.
Julie Wimberly, Graphic designer
Julie joined the Resonance team in 2012, and her specialties are layout production, conceptual design, and branding identity. Her work on the logo for Make Georgia Hands-Free is notable, both for its social currency and because she lives in neighboring South Carolina.
Outside of work, Julie enjoys gardening, yoga, and renovating old houses with her husband. She lives in beautiful Charleston, SC with two young boys and enjoys all forms of paddling–canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boarding.
